We were in Düsseldorf, Germany, from 22 to 25 October to meet you at one of the most important trade fairs in our sector: Glasstec.
Every year we attend several exhibitions around the world, but there is always a lot of expectation around Glasstec, and we can say that this year's event did not disappoint.
Exhibitors and visitors came from all over the world. A few traditional names missed the call, but the halls of the fair were truly a good reflection of the industry's best technology.
Among our visitors we saw a strong presence from Greece, North Africa, Brazil and Portugal, but also from Arabic and Eastern countries such as Kosovo and France. There was a lower presence from the USA, probably due to the recent Glassbuild America exhibition.
A steady interest curve
The first and last days of the fair are always slow and soft: greetings are exchanged, people met with pleasure. On the other hand, the middle days were very busy, with old and new customers visiting one after the other.
The success of the real protagonists
Although we would like to think that you came to our stand to see us in person, the truth is that your eyes were all on the three real stars of our stand: the super-fast straight-line grinding machine with bakelitic grinding wheels FPS50BS, the fully automatic straight-line grinding machine FPS20RS equipped with washing machine, height extensions and special low-e glass rubbers, and the SME10 variable angle straight-line grinding machine.
What you appreciate of the FPS50BS straight-line grinding machine with bakelitic grinding wheels
Originally our vertical drill was supposed to be in its place, but then plans changed, and judging by the success of the FPS50BS, perhaps for the better.
You were impressed by its speed in grinding and polishing the flat profile (10 mm glass processed at a speed of 4 m/min), and appreciated its ease of use and the quality of the finished product.
The machine is the result of an in-house design that took its inspiration from both our straightening and bevelling machines to achieve superior results. To support it, we used special motors and grinding wheels, able to handle the high processing speeds.
What do customers ask for?
Certainly the market appreciates electronic/automatic machines that require little human intervention. But automatism must increase, not decrease the quality of output. This approach, which combines ease of use and precision, has rewarded us.
In conclusion
We are satisfied with this edition of the fair. It is always interesting to meet people who are competent and, why not, demanding. This allows us to differentiate ourselves from that part of the market that offers machines that are economically attractive but technically less performing.
See you next time!
